Disclaimer: Please excuse my grammar, I’ve had very less time to write this!
Before beginning anything I’d like to say something.
People WILL NOT see the hard work behind all this preparation or how long we worked for it. They only see the END RESULT! And I’m not here to tell that they are wrong. I’m here to say that I won’t be affected by the bad comments about the results, because I know how hard I studied the whole year and I know how the last two months messed up my whole LIFE!. Now that’s enough!
My exams started on March 1st and the timetable for my exams was
1)Physics(March 1)
2)French(March 5)
3)Mathematics(March 7)
4)Chemistry(March 11)
5)Computer Science(March 13)
6)English(March 18)
Note:
The first two months of this year was hard. We had to prepare for our lab exams and submit records, damn wasted too much time on this. Well, we couldn’t help it the lab exams were pushed so far that it went till Feb 9th…that’s for everybody else.
For Me and French Students, our orals were so close to the exam Feb 26th. Now, Of course, the reasons listed above have little effect on my results. The results are yet to come. But anytime soon!! Below are the experiences I had during my exams.
The first exam (Physics) went fine like I didn’t know that all the questions would come from some handbook. Many of them studied that. I studied the whole material(Textbook&Notes)and guess what?
The paper was med.
I did ok. Some did exceptionally good, that handbook must have been really good.
Next.
The second exam (French) went bad(not too bad), you see french was in the middle of math and PHY and we found it hard to wire in both math and French to study together and basically I practiced math for 2 days and Monday (One day before french) I studied like a raging bull. And made my time worthy on Tuesday morning. Paper was…
doesn’t matter, I did something. Thanks to my French teacher and my friends.
The third exam (Math) went Bad(VERY BAD), We had a gap of one day to revise on what all I learned. I really did. I had studied 2x times the raging bull. Even did the handbook for 2 marks and 1 mark questions, didn’t have time for other q.s from the handbook.
On Exam Day:
I sat inside the class ready to take the exam. I noticed this new examiner and he’s really chill about being strict. He starts telling us the rules and regulations. The question papers arrived, when the bell rang, he gave it to us.and we had to wait for the second bell to ring. As soon as I saw the paper, I was like “Ök, good paper, we can do it mate!”
*bell rings again*
Exam starts. I did the 5 mark questions first then the 10 marks question and then 3 marks and then 2 marks and 1 mark questions in the end.
I begin my paper and soon lead to a situation that I need extra sheets. I ask for an extra sheet. He gets the 4 pages of extra sheets. When he hands it to me he first tells me to fill up some stuff. I have to fill up my name and hall ticket no. and my main answer sheet no. and my signature on it. Then I had to do vice-versa (From the extra sheet on the main answer booklet). So the answer sheet number numbers were 5 or more digits long. so had to repeat them 3 times. (Phew)
Just when you thought it’s done.
He brings another big sheet of paper. Gotta fill up what all I mentioned above again and with signature!! Damn. I had to waste nearing 10 minutes for this.
Now think about this 2x times. I took 8 extra sheets.
That’s not all.
The examiner was the worst!
When I’m writing the exam he keeps disturbing me telling me about the importance of instructions. And he keeps instructing us to do his work. He was so lazy that we had to write the date below his signature. We had to do his work. we wrote page numbers in the back and (they were in Kannada(diff language)) I had to take time to read it and write them carefully (this was the examiner’s work).
(phew)…you’re probably tired of hearing this!! Guess what there’s more! That examiner squeezed the life outta me.
When I was solving and if I didn’t pay attention to his instructions, he came to my bench and lifts my head up(My eyes were on the paper)…I was in the middle of solving a sum (matrix). Now I had to listen to him, if I said anything bad on him he could write something on my answer sheet and the guy who is gonna correct my paper would believe him not me!
So I had to do that Matrix multiplication again totally!! Damn it.
It’s still not over. The examiner did something more terrible!
When I was at the end of my paper. The guy sitting next to me had finished the paper faster than me, that’s the cause. He only wrote 10 or something pages. He didn’t even complete the half paper. The examiner comes to give the signature at the back of the answer booklet(only for those who have completed the exam). He came to do it for the guy next to me and he kept the other guy’s answer sheet on my paper and was counting pages and signing on it (wasted 5 minutes arguing about page numbers with the other guy). Now I told him “Sir, I need to write…. “. He said, “Wait please!”.
*What*!!!
Even 5 minutes is GOLDEN TIME for MATH.
I had to solve another sum from the start!
Math is for 100 marks and only 3 hours to write it. And other science-based subjects are only 70 marks for the same 3 hours, so time is manageable in other exams and in math even 1 minute is very important.
He didn’t even give me extra time. Now again, If I had argued he would have written something on my paper. So I couldn’t do anything.
I screwed up some 3 marks q.s cause of this.
The fourth exam (Chemistry) went good (Not too much, but somewhat)!
Wrecked. By the Math exam. My confidence was shaking for the chemistry exam. I suffered a lot during the preparation of chemistry. After I gave the exam I was relieved.
It was a good paper and no problems occurred. I was more happy about the latter.
Cause. Even this time, I got the same examiner. But I finished chem faster and owned him. He gave the trouble( my math trouble) to someone else that day. We still had to do his job (signature date). But I had time for it. Still, I hated that guy! and guess what I did take 4 extra sheets on that day. But given the time I wrapped, it was manageable.
The fifth exam (Computer Science) went good (Still lost 2 or 3 marks)!
The preparation started mild. But went warm towards the end of the day!
There was not much to explain. Had one day to prepare. Happy for the fact that I got a different examiner.
The sixth and last exam (English) went good!
It was the last exam. And after finishing the exam when I came outside all I saw was celebrations…
What am I gonna do?
I’m gonna try my best to get into a decent college. Mind this.
The Results are not gonna stop me from moving on. Done is done. I can’t go back and change what I did.
2018 was an amazing year! and the year I learned a lotta important stuff.
It’s been amazing these two years…Full of surprises! I’m definitely gonna miss my friends. Guess what even when I go to college and make new friends…
WE ARE GONNA STAY LIKE THIS FOREVER!
